Wednesday the 9th of September 2009 will go down in Football history as one of the biggest evenings in English soccer of this decade, as First Touch Soccer teamed up with The Albion Pub in Farnham to run the first of hopefully many successful presentation evenings...oh and England beat Croatia 5-1 to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Players from Div One champions, 80’s All Stars and Div Two Champs Crookham 5 were present to collect the new league winners cups as well as their individual medals, and open trophy awards following a highly successful season from both sides and a tense penalty shoot out between the twos sides in own open trophy final which remarkably finished 1-0 to the 80’s boys, despite Crookham beating Wii Not Fit on penalties in the first of the two semi finals (see picture inset).
They weren’t the only two teams present from last season, with the entire Indoor Milan team out in force and even new boys ‘Sporting Sideburns’ were there to enjoy the game on the big screen and help eat the chips, chicken and sandwiches kindly laid on by Albion Landlord Shaun (Shane). Already we now look forward to a new season starting on Wednesday 16th September and will undoubtedly run another presentation ‘up the pub’ in the future.
